Intercontinental Planet Trekkers offer Cool Kid Programs
By Kathy Chin Leong

Your perfect children may roll up their eyes at the mere mention of the phrase "kids' program," for at many hotels, successful ones are definitely a hit or miss. Now the Intercontinental hotels are revving up their activities with Planet Trekkers. Here's a sampling of what they have to offer around the globe:

•InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa: A truly memorable holiday experience awaits at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa on the beautiful, picturesque Natadola Beach on Fiji's Viti Levu. Relax on palm-fringed white sand beaches, enjoy world-class dining or unwind in a luxurious spa. With exceptional amenities like its 18-hole championship golf course, family pool, main pool for guests 16 years and over, and bars for star gazing, this Fiji hotel is one of the most magnificent retreats in the South Pacific. This property offers both the traditional Planet Trekkers club for those aged 4-7 and 8-12, but it also offers a “Teen Trekkers” program. Outdoor activities for teen guests are available every day with the Recreations Team. Pitch & Put, beach football, cricket, touch rugby, beach, and volleyball sessions are sure to keep your teens active and make the most of Natadola Bay's beautiful surroundings.

•InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort: Taking them on a journey into the heart of the resort and the destination, little ones will glimpse local knowledge, express themselves through the arts, and create memories to take home with them. Activities on offer include arts and crafts, yoga fun, kite flying, environmental activities, face painting, music and dance, traditional Vietnamese games, as well as a mini ‘jungle adventure’ that takes them through our resort’s unique grounds. Here is an example of the resort’s “Daily Activities” schedule, as well.

•InterContinental Bali Resort: At InterContinental Bali, Planet Trekkers activities include enriching pursuits that introduce youngsters to Bali’s culture and artistic heritage, such as kite making, dress-up, dance, music and Indonesian Bahasa language lessons. Children can also explore the resort by bicycle, learn to cook with a chef, and participate in morning yoga sessions. Conservational initiatives under the Green Sea Turtle theme help promote ecological awareness. These activities include fish feeding, recycled art classes and active involvement with a local Turtle Conservation and Education Centre, teaching children about the rare species that inhabit Indonesian seas and participating in the resort’s own Turtle Release Programme on Jimbaran Beach.
