Consumer Snow Country Lookout:
We’ve Found Great Bargains in Utah
By Kathy Chin Leong
If you have always wanted to go skiing in Utah, but thought it too expensive, this is the season take advantage of this great bargain at the Snowbird Ski Resort. For $99 (per person double occupany) per night at the Cliff Lodge, you get both a lift ticket for skiing and lodging for as many nights as you want.Kids 12 and under also stay free and get a lift ticket as well.
So… if you fly into Salt Lake City on Delta or Southwest on a good bargain rate of $150 roundtrip, then you can do a weekend of skiing for less than $500, about the same price you’d get away with in Lake Tahoe.
Cliff Lodge offers some of the region’s nicest rooms, plus a handful of restaurants and lounges in the same building along with shopping, two pools and four hot tubs, and a spa.
Once you get hooked on Utah skiing, here’s more to consider for your next outing:
Women’s Mountain School Programs are comprised of 3 and 4-day camps held in January and March. Also, check out Ski To Live, a more all-encompassing experience that includes yoga and is taught by a former US Mogul Team member. Check out www.snowbird.com/mtnschool/skitolive.html .
If you are worried about your finnicky eaters, don’t fret. The area features everything from standard pizza and cafeteria fare to sushi at 8,500 feet and upscale Italian cuisine. All restaurants and lounges listed are listed here at www.snowbird.com/dining .
